We went on a date.

Ha, I love how you can always tell when I’ve run out of homework, projects, and exams. That’s when my posts appear.

But yeah, in October, we went on a date to Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

And it was beauutiful!!!

Someone was having their wedding there in the woods along the cliffs, and a violinist was playing during our time there. It was perty. Of all instruments, it seems like the wilderness is most accepting of violins. It just works.

So we got to see a cave! And squirrels! And chipmunks! And pedestrians! And a humongous cliff!

Tim has been really into Assassin’s  Creed lately, and proceeded to do that huge  jump that assassin dude always does off of tall buildings, off of this rock.

If there’s one redeemable thing about moving up to Kent, it’s being near the Cuyahoga Valley.  I always feel the urge to come up here. It’s so reminiscent of our West Virginia adventures, but less mountainy. Oh, and no bears sadly : (

We also went to The Arctic Squirrel, an ice cream shop in downtown Kent. However, I didn’t capture any of its magnificence because I was lost in my pumpkin ice cream.

So yeah. Nothing monumental. But it was nice!

I’m off to get through my last day of school, and work, before I can start making snickerdoodles and pumpkin pie : ) Have a great Thanksgiving, we’ll see you around soon!

Courage My Love (is amazing)

Guys. Guess what? I gotta tell ya. I just gotta. ‘Cause it’s amazing. I just gotta.

Okay okay, look, okay, Courage My Love‘s first album, For Now,  comes out on October 31st.

…I’m only slightly stoked.  *cough cough Understatement.*

I randomly found CML on Youtube, and was kind of skeptical of them at first, but I’ve fallen madly in lyrical love with them. For being 17-year-olds, they’re pretty impressive.

A lot of people accuse them of sounding like Paramore, which, to some extent is true, you can definitely sense the Paramore influences, but, I don’t give a squirrel’s behind. I’m beginning to like them more than Paramore.

*insert gasps and uh uh no you didn’ts*

Wow, shocker from the die-hard Paramore fan right? I’m starting to buy into the belief that Paramore has gotten too popular, and that the fall isn’t too far away fo r them.

That makes me sad.

But, CML is definitely a refreshing find and continues to grab on to my little heart.

Golly Sandra, did I mention how amazing their voices are?

Have a great weekend.

See ya later gators.

Keep it swill and all that.

How “Pinteresting”….

I have a Pinterest. I wasn’t sure I liked it at first, but now I love to go through all the amazing pictures to find inspiration for my many mood boards I’ve been creating for my Fashion Visuals class. It’s so much fun to add things to your boards and find creative images of fashion, recipes, nature, hairstyles, almost anything!

However, to join Pinterest, you have to be invited by someone else, so if you want to join, leave me a comment and I’ll help you out.

I wish I could use it to create collages on here, but I’m still trying to figure it out.

Anyway, here’s thelink to my Pinterest account in case you want to see what’s been inspiring me lately. I don’t always have time to go through the vast amount of stuff, but I’ll try to do it more often. Hope you have fun pinning!

In other news, I finally bought the pattern for the Geodesic Cardigan I’ve been dying to make since last year. I’ve been so pysched about it, I spent $25 dollars on two skeins of yarn. ‘Ya hear that? Two skeins. Good yarn don’ come cheap, folks.

Isn’t it just pertyful!!?? I can’t wait to make it!!

It’s kind of sad I just now decided to make it, considering how thin it is…

Oh well!

Want the pattern? Here it ’tis!  (That means click over there <<< ; )

Interweave has some really great patterns. I’m looking into making some sweaters and hats too, ’cause it’s going to get snowy up here rather quickly.

Quicker than I’d like. Pooie.

Anyone interested in learning how to knit or crochet? Lemme’ know : )

Have a beautiful day.

Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan..or is it Meow?

Tim and I have been wasting spending time viewing funny, but most of the time really stupid videos on Facebook. It brightens our otherwise stressful weeks.
I never thought this video was funny, but now I can’t get it out of my head!

Everyone need a little Nyan Cat :)

I also found this Nyan hat on Deviantart and about died. I’m not one for wearing hats, but for Nyan, I would.

Here’s the link to CalgaryCosPlay’s Deviantart.

Speaking of Deviantart, Here’s mine. I have a ton of artwork that I haven’t posted on it, since I rarely use it, but until I find a better way to store it so that people can view it, here ‘ya go.

I leave you with ten hours of Nyan. Oh yes : )

Have a Nyan-Tastic Tuesday!

P.S.- I couldn’t leave without posting this too : )

Off to Workroom Tech. Buh bye!

Whoopie Pies should be called Mmm Pies. (Picture Heavy)

Ahh, the long awaited Whoopie Pie post. Unfortunately these have been gobbled up by now, since I’m pretty sure I made them a month ago. But golly gracious they were amazing while they lasted. I used this gluten-free recipe from Gluten Free Canteen. Super simple. Super quick. And if you don’t feel up to eating the gluten free kind (it tastes just like normal cake thahnk yahou vahhry mahch) I’m sure it could be substituted with another Betty Crocker mix that’s chock full of gluten!!! I also bet, that you could take vanilla cake mix, add in some pumpkin and spice, and have yourself a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie….But that’s just me!

So you follow the instructions, mix it all up, plop it on the pan, blah blah blah, and then put it in the oven for maybe 8-10 minutes, depending on how big they are.

Speaking of, I really recommend not making them as huge as I did, it was a lot of whoopie pie to try and shove in your mouth, along with all the icing.

Make the frosting while the whoopies are cookin’. The recipe calls for icing and Marshmallow Fluff, and as yummy as it was, if you want the icing to go on easier, I recommend just using the icing. Also, before you put the icing on the whoopies, let it set up in the ‘fridge for a little while. I was like, supa’ desperate to try them as soon as they came out of the oven, so I smeared it on, and, as a result, got it all over myself. It was kinda melty. So, as a safety precaution, resist your indulgence and put it in the ‘fridge.

Oh snap! They’re done! Pull ’em out, let them cool for a few minutes, and (if you remembered to grease the pan) they’ll come right off, no sticky mess!

You don’t have to just put the icing on it, we also used a peanut butter frosting Tim made months ago, and just plain ol’ peanut butter :) Ice cream would be incredible with this, especially since the pies hold up so well. They’re very sturdy.

Ta da!!!! So yummy. And what a lovely picture of Tim’s feet.

What will the verdict be?

A happy husband. Success!!!

I can’t wait to make these again and take them to social gatherings. Boo yah. Shelby can’t make Mac n’ Cheese, but I can make this.  See it. Eat it. Believe it.

I realize my pictures suck. I want to make them better. However I am a poor little college student. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make my images better, how to edit them, or what cameras I should look into for better image quality, I would so appreciate it!

I’m making a skirt as well! I’ll post pictures later this week, once I’m able to get it on a mannequin : ) Have an Autumny week!

Yumma for your Mumma

Just thought I should let y’all know that I made cookies.

Gluten-Free Cookies.

I also wanted to apologize for the lack of anything blog-wise recently. I have been so busy with my wonderful evil new job and all of my college work as well, it’s been hard to make time to sleep, let alone blog.

However, I am continuously getting new things to talk about, new adventures, and sewing. I’ve got to show you the sewing : )

Talk to you soon!
